Ronald Gleich has been Controlling-Professor at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management since August 2020. He is also Co-Director of the ICV-Ideenwerkstatt, the think tank of the International Controller Association.

The article shows how standards can increase the efficiency of controlling and also enable the comparability and benchmarking of controlling processes.
The new IGC mission statement and the changes it contains are presented in detail and the advantages of other standards, such as the IGC process model, are outlined. Examples illustrate the implementation possibilities in practice.
